We really must find a way to do more than just talk about the dreadful people who rule over us. I have no idea what we can do because they have the money and power to influence media and maintain power. We need some kind of asymmetric response, the alternative is to accept that we are slaves without chains.

Assange = Dreyfus? Certainly both were political prisoners, both detained unjustly, both divided society between those who defended the establishment and those who questioned it. But the intensity of the controversy is not the same, with the Dreyfus question dominating political life in France for a decade. And why such intensity? Because of the ethnic angle. Were Assange to be of some disfavored ethnic group, the fever pitch might have become similar. Also, the Dreyfus Affair was about a lie, a made up nothing (he hadn't betrayed France to Germany). Assange is not made up, his influence and challenge to the establishment are real.

Trump has put forward a proposal. Zelensky sits down with Putin and negotiates. If he doesn't then all US military assistance is withdrawn. If Russia will not sit down and negotiate then unlimited military assistance will be sent to the Ukraine. It also seems that the EU is going to look at admitting the Ukraine to the EU. I suspect that this is not only a military move, there are rich pickings to be had by bringing the Ukraine into a closed shop, the EU will get the lions share of rebuilding contracts and it will exclude non EU countries from participating. They will also get their hands on the natural resources of the Ukraine.

At 22:59: There were so many people (of the European/German war criminals from WWII) involved in some of the worst aspects of the war who were brought over to the US, the US arms wide open, or used in Europe, (who) just pivoted around and pointed right back at the Soviet Union (Operation Unthinkable, Operation Red Sox). ... Russia and China can see the existential threat Western "foreign policy" (read: criminality) poses to them - they are encircled by the US and its allies, their proxies. There's a swath of death and destruction the US has caused across the planet up to their bordes, they know what is coming next. So they obviously can not back down. ~ Brian Berletic

Why ANYBODY in a critical position of the gubmint of the West would want to live in the West nowadays, even the United States, is beyond me. If I were Assange, I'd be on the first plane to Russia as quick as I could, before they decide to do more to him. Same thing if I was Scott Ritter... I'd drop the USA like a bad habit and move to Russia. The US gubmint already proved they can railroad him using our ridiculously pathetic and corrupt "injustice system", and now proven they can just seize one's papers and implicitly threaten their freedom of movement without cause or reason... we live in a totalitarian police state that is masquerading as a "liberal democracy" but increasingly the masks are slipping and they're not hardly bothering to put them back anymore... it's just a matter of time before they let the masks slip entirely to the floor and we find ourselves living in a totally fascist state. The "western democracies" have already proven they can use lawfare to imprison these people for years or a decade, and destroy their reputation and legal standing in the process, so WHY bother trying to stay in an oppressive regime that can basically decide to destroy you at any moment?? Hell if I were 20-30 years younger and not a farmer tied to the land, I'd move to Russia (or just about any other nation) in a heartbeat, because I see what the USA has become and I now totally despise it and how it's basically the opposite of everything it ever stood for and which I believe in. It's irrevocably corrupt now and cannot be fixed anymore... BUT I'm an old man now and I'm stuck here, so be it. It can rot and I won't lift a finger to support or defend it anymore-- I didn't leave America, it left me. It can rot and whoever wants it can have it as far as I'm concerned.

Listening to some of these different channels and their take on the situation, something has dawned on me... basically the US and Europe with this "exceptionalist" attitude of superiority and impunity and the "inevitability of their success" because "we are the superior people with a God-given right to rule the world because we're better, we alone have the better way, we know better, we're smarter, we're more technologically advanced, and nobody can match us let alone surpass us" is the same sort of nonsenses that has been spouted over and over again by extremists time and time again... For the Soviet Union, it was the "worldwide revolution of the proletariat" that they alone were destined to lead, as the "workers of the world unite" and "overthrow their capitalist oppressors". They believed in the "new Soviet man", this picture of the perfection of mankind through the socialist ideology and total dedication to the betterment of communist society and the motherland/state over all other baser human instincts like greed or lust for power or prestige... that when people saw this "new Soviet man" and this perfection of communist society, they would seek to emulate it and would trigger the worldwide revolution of the proletariat that would inevitably sweep the capitalist oppressors from the face of the Earth. Of course it never happened-- the untold wealth produced by the overwhelming production capability developed for WW2 and then turned toward rebuilding in Europe (and the Soviet Union as well) created enough economic activity that the average worker in the West was infinitely wealthier in terms of lifestyle than any of his predecessor's generations; it is only now after most of a century that advantage has all been wasted and consumed and now the system is eating itself through debt and reducing its workforce to impoverishment and wiping out the middle class while its societies now crumble. The Chinese likewise bought into the communist ideology of worldwide revolution. Through their "Great Leap Forward" and "Cultural Revolution" they transformed their society in record time, though at terrible cost as it had been in the Soviet Union. Ideologically they'd never been on the same wavelength as the Soviets and saw their own brand of communism as superior and "true" compared to the Soviet model and not as driven to export it as the Soviets had been earlier on in the 50's. Probably mostly due to the times. Of course this ideology wasn't confined to communism of whatever flavor... the Germans too sought "their place in the sun" and "lebensraum" as what was due them, at first as an emerging "great power' and then 20 years later as "the master race" under their new ideology of national socialism... just as Italy under fascism and Benito Mussolini had sought to carve out a new "Roman Empire" for itself in North Africa, as a superior race to those present in its conquests by their ideology, and their "divine right". Even the Japanese believed themselves to be a superior people, with a God-given right by providence to rule the world. It was at the core of their beliefs, even if militarily they didn't think they could actually defeat the US militarily unless the US threw in the towel very quickly, like in the first six months. Their belief in the Japanese superiority coupled with disdain and underestimation and LACK OF INFORMED EDUCATION about the true nature of the Americans and the capabilities of the USA, led them to believe that the US was "soft and decadent" and would collapse quickly with the success of Japanese conquest and battles" and wouldn't engage in a war with them, would be unwilling to face the losses and difficulties of war against Japan... SOME like Admiral Yamamoto knew, and said as much... when asked about the prospects of winning a war against America, he stated, "Japan could run wild for about six months, after that nothing was certain" which meant if they didn't get the US to concede the war within six months and quit, it was likely they'd battle on and eventually overcome Japan, which they did. Even after the success of his Pearl Harbor attack that he planned, he stated "I fear all we've done is awaken a sleeping giant, and filled him with a terrible resolve". Which they had. Of course if we go back before that, we see that the British Imperial mentality of superiority and impunity led to all sorts of terrible things like the colonialist suppression and enslavement of entire nations like India and others, wars like the Boer War and Crimean War, all over things that really they had NO BUSINESS doing or being involved in... but their own assuredness of their superiority and divine right of conquest and right to rule others as "the Great British Empire" made them by definition a "superior people" with an automatic right to rule the world, so they thought... of course only in a world where "might makes right" and "rules are for other people". That same sick mindset is alive and well in Britain today, at least in its leadership elite class. It's also infected America and the rest of Europe so it seems... only now they're all globalist "rules based order" oligarchs, coupled up with the the billionaire oligarchs of business and finance, and powered by the unelected intelligence ruled deep state governments that they've created over time to institutionally rule over North America and Europe... and which feels it too has a God-given right to rule the world as a superior people... it's all a sick fantasy just as it has always been before, time and time and time again...

The US Navy and US Air Force weapons development and new weapons procurement programmes have been the laughing stock of even the US veteran community (people like Aaron Amick, YT channel: Sub Brief). The LCS program is quite literally a production line making ships that are going straight to the scrap yard. They've only completed a fraction of the order, and the Navy has already decomissioned the entire class of warships (both the Independence and the Freedom class for separate issues). The F35s are rusting away from the seawater, etc. Why would Lockheed, Northop or any other contractor make a simple weapon that just works, when they can make fat cash stacks on developing and implementing completely new technologies into newly designed, built-from-the-ground platforms that are going to be plagued with systematic issues they themselves are going to be hired and payed to fix for a fortune post-production?

I have to laugh... I trained my daughter in basic mechanics and stuff by having her work with me on our vehicles, and having her do "hands on" stuff with me doing part of the job, and explaining it all along the way. One day I picked her up after school when she was going to a large 5A suburban high school (before we moved to a small 2A school during covid so she could actually go to school and have activities and a normal life) and there were these older high school boys (she was a freshman) who came out of practice and had a flat tire... They looked it over, gathered around to discuss it, and then got in the car. One of the boys got the idea to look in the owner's manual, because they dug it out of the glove box, and started reading and discussing things. Finally they piled out of the car, opened the trunk to access the spare tire and jack and tools, discussed it a minute, and then gave up without even trying and got back into the car, and started calling on the phone. About this time my daughter came out from her practice, and I discussed what I saw with her, and said, "maybe we should give them a hand"... she looked them over and was like, "nah, lets go..." I figured she'd be embarrassed or something but I pulled my pickup over by their car and spooled the window down, and asked if they needed help... "Nah, my dad called the auto club"... LOL:) When I was in high school we rebuilt tractor engines and restored and repainted the tractor for their owners in the ag shop... we did welding and rebuilt shredders and other equipment. We did the prep work and painted them with spray guns when we were done... we built trailers and fixed machinery. Now these kids can't even manage to change a flat tire when there's a group of four or five athletic boys for pity's sake... it's pathetic... and yet these kids are going to be the "STEM graduates" that are going to change the world, and outdo people who have to had to come up from poverty and the school of hard knocks, who've had to fix up and make do and improvise and innovate their entire lives, and have now been educated and gained experience with modern technology and have built a society on it... not bloody likely!

German elites (industrialists/ranking Nazis) believing that whatever the outcome, their survival was not only possible, but assured, were not wrong. OSS/Donovan/Dulles/Shaw operating from Geneva base, arranged Vatican ratline to funnel the perps to United States. Taking charge of major American projects (NASA, Los Alamos, naming only a few) those un-reconstructed Nazi elements took similar posts in DC, Wall St, and heavy industry. Not a few Japanese scientists were also inducted to lend their special talents to post-war industry.

Although it might appear that the US gained some victory over Assange that is completely false. The US has recently began taking the low moral ground in most of their policy decisions. That is a formula for guaranteed failure. As an American this is a sad time, but as a human being on the planet earth it is a hopeful time. Perhaps with the changing of the power structure mankind as a whole will benefit.

Spoke to family members both in Russia and in the U.S. It's extremely frustrating. They are not interested in seeing beyond "Russia attacked Ukraine, dictatorship, " h-man " must be stopped, " etc. They don't see a problem with direct U.S. strikes on Russia's critical military infrastructure, for example. The real risk of a mushroom cloud over THEIR city. All that matters is "but Russia attacked Ukraine". ..

If he broke no laws (indeed so‐called whistle-blower laws not only allowed, but encouraged it) and exposed criminality and wrongdoing then his motives are irrelevant. War crimes are war crimes; corruption is corruption. Exposing a crime is not only allowed, it is laudable. Indeed, not exposing wrongdoing makes you guilty of collusion.

"Victory At Sea - Guadalcanal - Episode 6", watchable on RUclips, includes a 10-minute montage of 1940s U.S. industry transforming Guadalcanal into a "springboard for attack" and "storehouse for victory." To understand how U.S. manufacturing, whose output was greater than any other country at the time, was financialized and the U.S. economy was deindustrialized starting in 1980, read "The Man Who Broke Capitalism - How Jack Welch Gutted the Heartland and Crushed the Soul of Corporate America-and How to Undo His Legacy" by David Gelles. In short, storied U.S. manufacturing behemoths like GE, Westinghouse, Boeing, and others were appropriated by financial predators starting with Jack Welch, downsized, offshored, and reconceived as clever Wall Street money plays completely divorced even from the idea of making quality products so a few money-obsessed madmen can control gigantic hoards of money that ultimately are worth nothing unless similarly disposed gamblers continue to be drawn to the U.S. derivatives casino.

Capitalism destroyed capitalism. It contains within itself the seeds of its own destruction.

Mr. Mercouris' arguments about no - fly zone are vacuous and vague. I think he is a meek character . Russia should declare a no - fly zone ASAP to bring an end to US' jingoism and belligerence. When persuation fails force must be applied. Better be early Mr. X than the late Mr. X.

Is the US completely stupid? They are coordinating attacks on Russia via their Ukrainian proxies. The US are operating under the arrogant illusion that whatever Russia says or believes does not matter. Its important that ordinary people know and understand that Russia is militarily extremely capable and will not allow American coordinated attacks on Russia to persist without consequences to US/ NATO. When Russia does respond to such attacks the West will propagandise it to Western people as Russian “aggression”. The problem for NATO and US is: to what end?

YOU have to understand one thing about China. It is proclaiming the ruling entity is the Communist Party of China. There are EIGHT political parties in China! And the so-called communist party asks for the other parties to criticize whatever and contribute to the common prosperity. The overall mentality of the Chinese is almost the opposite of that in the West. They believe in compromise and consensus for the common good. The Chinese government stands for Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. The last being mysterious to the West, but very clear to the Chinese. The fact is, the CCP is actually the Chinese Confucian Party and implementing Confucian policies for the benefit of the people of China and the World. The absolute opposite of unbridled Western Capitalism!

The comedian made the joke on us. Why would he worry? No need to. He has plenty of money thanks to the West.
